Travelling to Malaysia 2moro. Need urgent inputs.

Hi,
My brother is traveling to Malaysia 2moro for a week long vacation with family.
He is staying 4days in KL and a day or 2 in Penang.
Need inputs on few areas. Please add whatever you know for sure no guesses pls.

1)How much currency can they carry on person. (AFAIK its 10k USD)

2)Which is the best place to convert INR to MYR? Mumbai airport to KL Airport?

3)How much should be decent cash reqd considering their meals and hotel and transport is taken care of.

4)What about carrying some light snacks like pickle or khakras or theplas(thin paratha)?

5)Shopping? Any good place to buy TVs or not worth anymore buying from there.

6)Any idea on surcharges if we use Indian debit cards to withdraw cash there?

7) Already purchased a SIM card. Any more that you would like to add Thanks.

2) Convert 20% (or initial expenses) directly into MYR in India. Convert the rest from INR to $ in india.
Get it from a small shop, not a Western union Forex or whatever. Small shops offer better rates.
In Malaysia, convert the $ to MYR at a small forex shop.
NEVER convert at an airport. They give the worst rates.

4) If they are vegetarian, then go ahead.

6) Surcharge will be there, but its also on number of transactions i believe, so best to withdraw in bulk. Also make sure that the debit card is an "International" debit card.
