Truck and train simulator game needed

Try Microsoft Train simulator,Trainz,Train simulator series( Rail Fan)

I like Trainz its the closest you can get for a train simulator ,Microsoft is boooooooooring .
 
The best railroad series still is Railroad Tycoon 2 : Platinum. The complexity in this game from starting a company to trading shares, hiring railroad managers (different bonuses for different managers) to even buying factories etc is really awesome. And for those who dont want that level of complexity , you can turn them off to play just simple railroad building! :)

Another good one is Transport tycoon. There is a free version of this now available at Open Transport Tycoon This is still king of the transport series!

Btw, these are strategy games so not really sure if it comes under your simulator search.

Has got many mods,you can even drive Indian trains on Indian tracks using mods in it.

Truck: 18 WOS: Haulin' (Plenty of mods), Euro Truck Sim (Gameplay & continuity)

Train: MSTS (Realism), Trainz (Enjoyable)

If you like buses, there's Bus Simulator from SCS. :p
 
Can someone who has played both games, list out the major differences between 18:WOS Haulin' and 18WOS: PTM? Are mods available for the latter?

Also, the latest installment looks pretty darn good.
