Say u have a small clip and u may want to convert it to a gif image.
- First , u need a clip (mpg, mov).
- Open ImageReady, and open the clip that u want.
- A new window opens. Change the options to 'selected range only'. This will enable u to select the required frames in the movie. If the selected range is big, then u may want to enable the last option and take every 5th or 6th frame. This will keep the task easy and u dont have to work with a lot of frames.

- For, the selection process, hold 'shift' and then click on the arrows in the movie window (its a quick time window here). The seek-bar in the window will show the selected range. After this, click OK.

- The layer window shows a new layer for every frame. Make sure that the animation window is also open. U will be able to see the frames and time alloted for each frame. Change the time if u want. Hit the play button tosee the results.

- Save the image as optimised and u got urself a gif image :hap2:

Now, for some additions:
1) U can modify each frame and add text to it to make custom subtitles (does anyone remember the LOTR gif featured in DIGIT

2) U can add a background to each frame (say, a nice PLASMA screen to give the effect), for added effect.
3) u can be more creative and do some crazy transition effects

we can create some funky sigs with these but for the image size :ashamed:
