TV + HT setup Suggestions..

For the Audio I would say go for Onkyo HTS 3300 ! I bought it for 24k recently , absolute VFM !!

About Croma / Reliance / Ezone , when I bought my TV i.e Samsung LED 40" 6 series , its price mentioned on samsung website was 125k , and these shops were selling it for 110k ... but when I checked it out at non exclusive retail outlet (Radhika Sales , chinchwad , Pune in my case ) they offered it for 85k !! thats a huge difference !!

Also get Media Player like Xtreamer or POHD , if you'hv got lot of HD content on ur HDD ... BD player will be PITA to play downloaded HD rips given the absense of USB play ... Sammy LED plays mkv through its USB port , but sadly they did not give Optical Audio Out on Asian Models (Only stereo Audio out) , otherwise it would have eliminated need of BD or Media player to enjoy original 5.1 Surround ...

SPVA: +Better Blacks, -Bad Input Lag

S-IPS: +Much better input lag, -Not so Great Blacks
You have messed it up there! Between the SPVA and IPS panels, SPVA panels have faster response times and thus lower input lags. Black levels aren't all that bad on the IPS panels. I recall the Philips 42PFL5609 had some decent blacks albeit nowhere in comparison to what the Sony and Samsung panels offer.

And these are remotely close to plasmas in terms of black level reproduction. :P

heh i zeroed it down at the beginning of the post.. i generally research around while posting and then the post keeps changing :P

currently the LG 47LH90QR LED LCD sounds too vfm if at 70k

im concerned about input lag and response time because that will a critical issue during fifa when things get too fast.

would like to check it out in person before i decide though.

but these two things i need some insight on..

TruMotion 200MHz.. really 200MHz monitor?

What im trying to say is..

whether

S-IPS + Complete LED Backlight + TruMotion 200MHz + Bluetooth - 20k :P

OR

S-PVA + umm what else?

i really dont care for bluetooth.. although that is for A2DP and for viewing pics on TV..gay i know.

so basically it is LED backlit S-IPS Vs S-PVA and im dead confused.

Thr trumotion of lg isn't worth the extra premium.

Input lag depends on the image processing ,since most panels today are quite fast.

In lg the LH90 is good although a EOL model.

^^I have already checked the model

It doesn't have local dimming and display looks just ok

I feel that the 40C5000 from Samsung is a decent buy for 75K

Check it

Else bravia Ex600

Did you check while it was displaying hd content?

Lg is advertising local dimming on this model and still it lacks the same? (talkin about this http://msa.lge.com/product_detail?m...pagesearch=index&md2psid=1-128860929970225952)

I'm checking these panels in person but I'm not able to distinguish quality with them playing sd stb contents... I will go n request if I can try done hd content via usb.

Btw the same panel is priced at 99990 at croma and 70000 at lg stores..with free lg bd player at both placec.. Just checked..both 47le5500 and 46ex400 looked same except colour tones were more natural over sony oob..but thåt was something thåt can be calibrated.

Apart from thåt, I couldn't notice any difference in quality from 10feet.

couldn't go closer due to crowd..but anyways, I won't be watching it from any closer than 15feet

out of connectivity range..so havent been online for around 10days..

Discarded the concerned LG model as it had a blueish tint..kind of when colour schemes are set to cool mode..but it wouldnt go completely with calibration..

Asked the people at reliance to play HD content over both simultaneously and then i could not differentiate between some shades of red/brown over LG while 46ex400 and 46c530 were able to produce them properly.

finally decided on samsung 46c530 after havin eaten gannu's brains virtually over fone and began hunting for spva panels.

wasted 2days in that accross most malls and mega stores in navi mumbai..but all that was available was the AA and CN panels..

Actually i considered samsung as i was geting a sweet deal of 67k on that with free airtel HD dth... :P

got bugged and bought sony Bravia 46ex400 finally a few days ago for 78k..(80k pricing but fortunately a friendly face showed up :P) got free IR based wireless headfones with that..

after having wasted two more days on which DTH to buy... purchased airtel HD dth as the quality looked much better than tatasky atleast at the reliance digital.. the quality is really good.

will take snaps and put up a showoff thread soon...

coming up soon:

onkyo HTS3300 (probably)

Volkswagen Polo 1.6L :bleh:

Well most of the times I'hv seen these shops connect several LCDs with single tatasky STB , thats why it looks utter crap . BTW how useful is "Universal remote" tht come along with Airtel HD ?

Allows me to change channels, volumes and also allows switching various inputs on LCD.

as for stb..

the situation was similar and was the same for both airtel and tatasky.. however, they do use some digital repeater, quality of airtel box at my home looks much better than how it was in store though..

i will post pics soon, cant do so rightnow with gprs :P

but 10mbps very soon :P
