Hey friends. actually i want to buy a tv tuner card for my pc. can u suggest me some good companies along with its price? on and yeah do u think its worth investing in a tv tuner card? i mean the quality n all, will it be good?

The best one available would be the ATI theater 550 for 4.5k odd, its media center capable and will work on Vista too

about the quality it depends a lot on the source too

ATI theater 650 pro and if not available then get 550.BTW,comp. tuner cards won't work with DTH .

Hi,

There is no point to stick to plain old cable these days. If you are planning to go for digital cable, DTH or IPTV; all these stuff requires a Set Top Box which takes care of switching the channels.

To watch Set Top Box based source on a PC, you only need a video capture card like Dazzle - Product summary - Dazzle Video Creator Platinum

It has on chip mpeg-4 (divx) encoder. You can easily use it for time shifting and capturing purpose apart from regular TV. It costs 5100 in Pune.

P.S. If you are not bothered to time shifting or capturing then a VIVO gfx can also do the trick for you.
