You probably misinterpreted what I am getting at.
I am not speaking on the basis of YT reviews or extrapolation.

I have 2 ATMOS HT setups - and the primary is a pretty well laid out one - with the LCR alone costing 20X the Airpods Pro without even considering the rest of the stack.

Does it sound great, yes.. Can the entire family watch it at one go - Yes
But the newer spatial setups have improved by leaps & bounds over the last 10 years while HT tech has remained static - and what that means is that well tuned spatial/ virtual ATMOS setups can come reasonably close to replicating a HT - at a very small fraction of the cost.. albeit for a single user

Will it make my seat rumble for explosions - No
Will it sound exactly like overhead speakers for raindrops - No
Will it however create a fairly expansive soundstage with clearly localized sound emulated on the basis of the embedded object data- Yes .. and that is a big win by itself

Since you have both AAP and PBA, is comfortable wearing in bed, lying sideways on pillow?

Not sure where you got the reference of YT reviews and extrapolation. I was mentioning from my first hand experience over the past few years and I have not found EP/HP remotely coming close to a HT when it comes to Atmos. I would rather look at the HP/EP to provide a nice good soundstage by itself rather than some emulation. Again its subjective so its possible that you have had a different experience and I am not disputing that. And a HT setup does not mean that you cannot enjoy it alone !

Both are fine for that .. no discomfort with either
In contrast to say Jabra 65t which makes me uncomfy in 30 mins , let alone think of keeping them on in bed

Thanks. I never had any issue with my AirPods 2 in that manner either. Good to know Pro will continue to be the same. With the sale coming up, I expect the price to be 17k for AirPods Pro and 7k for Pixel Buds A-Series on FK. Will get whichever gets the better offer.
Surprisingly no one came through in support of OnePlus Buds Pro so that’s better cut off the list
