^^Okay got the thing... You mean the Cold Fear types? Boy that sucked :P.

Edit: No real PC gamer uses arrow keys. E/S/D/F plus the keys around it are the way to go!
Yeah cold fear was a POS 100%...lucky i bought a pirated copy...:ohyeah:

DMC is a platformer if you remember or do you just like arguing and nitpicking for the sake of it ?

Yeah,I remember full well that its a platformer, but its not only a platformer. Its less of a platformer than it is a third person shooter.

And the game publishers wont ever ask you to buy a gamepad for the game thats a personal preference.

Well then,I guess you've never played Evil Twin. You cant start the game without inserting a gamepad, which is why I was forced to buy one for myself.Im not saying its gonna be that way for DMC,but game publishers do force you to use a gamepad sometimes. And gamepads are always the better choice for games like DMC3 and RE4.

Platformers like Psychonauts and BGE have very good control mapping for the keyboard/mice crowd.

DMC3 is nothing like Psychonauts and BGE which have easily controllable cameras. In DMC3 the cam cannot be controlled,so one has to completely depend on lock-on.No crosshair of any sort except when locked on to a target. And in many cases you cant even see the target because he/its outside the screen and you cannot control the cam.

Well,I never said its gonna fail, did I? Im just interested in seeing how well this gamepad-focused game would emulate on the KB and mouse.I doubt it would be the same experience.

^So you call that nitpicking huh? Very well.I was under the impression that it was called "expressing an opinion".DMC3 was developed solely with the gamepad in mind,so Im doubtful as to how well it would play on a KB/mouse combo.Whats the nitpicking in that?

@ Chaos.DMC3 not like PoP at all.PoP can be considered as a pure platformer with beat 'em up elements, but DMC3 is more action oriented. You gotta watch it to get a feel for what kind of game it is,because its a platformer hybrid with TPS,hack n' slash and some role-playing elements to it(health/weapon upgrades, different playing styles, learning new moves). Its very unique.

Yeah DMC won't exactly play well on the keyboard...these games clicked on consoles just because of its gameplay with the controllers.

Good ones are available for 400-800. Though for using a ps2 controller you'll need an USB adapter which is hard to find in India. There are many good controllers which look and work like the same as the Dualshocks also costing around the same.

Yeah.I saw this really good lookin' AMD controller for 450.Better get controllers meant for PCs rather than trying to use a PS2 controller.

However they play, I have both a dualshock2 and a keyboard/mouse to suit anyway they play best.
All pc gamepads suck compared to the dualshock2. Except for the rumblepad2 and some saitek ones, all have bad FF, build quality and ergonomics.

DMC is boring, barebones rpg elements put there just for the sake of it. 3rd person hack&slash, console equivalent equivalent of the countless fps's on pc. Plays sorta like Chaos Legion, the pc port of which didn't do well either.

RE4 on the other hand is great.

^If you liked Farcry, you're going to love Re4. Same goes for those who enjoyed FEAR, which is also nothing compared to Re4.

OMG!! There it is! I'm getting it now, repping you for this Udit great find :hap2: Playing PC with GC's controller is going to be the seventh heaven :P

it is a converter so that a PS2 controller can be used on GC, XBOX OR PC you cannot use a GC Controller on a PC with it.

It doesn't allow you to use GC controller on PC, rather, it allows you to use the PS2 controller on everything else (PC, XBOX and GC)

EDIT: OK, so I was a bit late in posting this

We'll be able to see results of the distribution deal as early as this month, with Onimusha 3 currently planned for an "end of February" release and Resident Evil 4 and DMC3 set to follow some time in the spring. Capcom confirmed to CVG that the three games will be "straight ports," with no major PC enhancements. Even so, without any new bells and whistles, Resident Evil 4 PC is definitely something to be excited about.
That stinks, considering the huge amount of extra's ps2 got over gc, i predicted it will be a straight port. Forget gfx, i hope they can carry over the gameplay unspoiled.

params7, you really ca'nt compare RE4 to Farcry or FEAR. RE4 is a third person shooter which requires you to go into a sort of staionary view to take aim and fire. It is a brilliant game none the less. I'll try and convince some of my friends to get it since I already have it on my GC.:bleh:

For someone who owns both a GC and a PS2, I can tell you that the GC controller is easily the most comfortable thing to grace your hands. It's just not as practical as the Dualshock when it comes to fighting games(games that give equal importance to all the buttons).

i find both the controllers quite good. Dualshock does have a little better analogue and button suport but it feels like holding a toy after hours of play on the 'cube, whose controller feels more comfortable to hold than the dualshocks due to its design. I don't like the placement of the C joystick, also it misses one Z trigger (what's the point of having only one on the right?) and the select button.
