Linux Ubuntu 10.10 - Maverick Meerkat ~Discussion Thread~

I tried the netbook remix and cant boot into Unity, wtf!!

It says something abt driver not present, checked the net and it seems pretty common.

Tried it on a Vostro 1400 with nvidia 8400m grahics. Any solution?

I tried the Netbook remix version too but totally hated it. You know the side panel never goes away. The Desktop edition with AWN is perfect for my 10" Netbook. You can try installing the normal Desktop over the Netbook Edition.

Yeah i get the desktop edition only, ubuntu is not able to boot into unity(the sidebar thing desktop manager) due to some hardware incompatibility with my laptop.
Whats AWN?
 
Avant Window Navigator. Just search "AWN"' in Ubuntu Software center. It's a dock/Panel. I have completely hidden the Gnome panel and just use the AWN. It's more beautiful and convenient to use.
