Just installed the 64bit desktop live CD and added KVM/libvirt/VirtManager etc, and installing the 32bit beta inside a VM - Ubuntu inside Ubuntu :) It's quite fast actually.... Will try installing Windows XP or Server 2008 trial later too...

There are still annoyances, like the Login Window config applet does not remember my setting of Human List and keeps reverting to the blue circles login theme!

One worry I have about Ubuntu is that they release an RC which is still in Beta quality and they give too short time until the final release, not enough time to take in inputs and fix any last-minute bugs before release... I wonder how stable/polished this LTS release will be...

edit: KVM and VirtManager are for sure beta quality, probably better to just install VMware or VirtualBox since they are more polished and robust...

I'd rather wait four more days to install it. Already have the beta, but didn't install cause it would still need a upgrade after the final version is released.

Hi everybody,
Seems u all r masters in linux/ubuntu/fedora etc.
I m anxious to switch to linux from MS$. But could any master suggest me that is there Nokia PC Suite available for linux? As GPRS is the only source for me for internet browsing. I have searched lot for Nokia PC suite for linux with no success. Though some persons from Bangladesh have developed drivers for nokia modems for linux O.S which i m unable to understand. Throwing some light would help persons like me to adapt linux.
Thanks

OK, audio playback is more high-fidelity on Hardy compared to XP! I think Vista has HD audio capability and XP's SP3 will add HD audio... my mp3s sound much better on my cheapo Creative 2.1 speakers :)

(This is on my on board SigmaTel sound on Intel DP35DP mobo)

edit: lol, i just realised if i hover mouse over a mp3 file, it plays it back :)

You need not to useany phone manager in Linux.. You memory card will get detected as a removable Drive and you can access the Internal Phone Memory via GTKPOD :D

Darkstar, i m asking for Nokia PC suite/ & or Nokia modem drivers for linux.
As i browse net on my lappy/PC through nokia phone having GPRS. So i need drivers for nokia phone modem ( included in PC suite), which i need if switches to linux from windows.

okay you want to browse Internet using your Phone as a Modem?

yeah, that can be done!

i am using nokia 5200 in Linux since ages to connect via Airtel mobile Office.

It works out nicely, but speeds on GPRS even with EDGE has reduced so i use it very less. Broadband is rocking here;)
