UK Defence Secretary Calls for Medal of Honor Ban

What a load of bull shit. We had so many games in the past where Germans, Iraqis, Russians, Japanese, Afgani are killed by US and UK soldiers. What was this guy doing then. Now he wants this game banned because the player can play as the opposite side (Taliban) ?

agree it is the purest form of bullshit!!

if anything MR.secretary says is credible, then what about counterstrike?

some people will go at any lengths to kick up a storm they can hide their own shortcomings and failures in!

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

good to see people with IQ levels similar and lower than the Shivsena aren't limited to this country

Dude, I so lol'd at this....... I just hope all this is started by EA itself just to have more publicity for this title... Even if not, this is some advertising. Remember the infamous airport incident of COD MW2? LOL..... Free publicity and sales sky rocket...

This is hypocrisy in it's purest form. US and British soldiers are rewarded for blowing off the heads of Germans and Japs, and they can't stomach the fact that people might get some fun out of fragging UK soldiers. Hopefully this will not hamper the game in any way.

When are we getting Medal of honor in INDIA ?
should release on time.

October 12th is the international release date - should release within a day or 2 in India as well seeing as its an EA title.

its already up for pre-order on nextworld and EA's Indian store.

cost is Rs. 999 on the EA store and Rs. 899 on nextworld.

i think the UK secretary might have been paid by EA for cheap publicity. Maybe people are not excited about MOH as they were for COD : MW 2. Maybe there are not enough pre-orders for the game. The moment some controversy surrounds some game or movie, it's sales skyrocket.

Remember the MNIK controversy. After watching the movie, the Hindu had commented that SRK should share it's profit with Shiv Sena for the publicity. I didnt watch the movie(coz i dont watch bollywood movies), but many of my friends felt the same way.

LOL what a lamer! :|

And where was this guy, when Modern Warfare 2 was out? Stupid publicity stunt - if anything this might actually increase the game sales.

just another marketing hype, create negative impression of the game, establish some "Should I play/ or not " mentality in personal's mind, see some boost in sales.

Game itself is a combo of MW2 + BFBC2. maps/characters may be new, rest of the things are stereotypes only.

If a game was released showing terrorists in Kashmir or the Pakistani Army attacking Indians and Indian soldiers, would the government and you all gamers take it in the right spirit and allow it to be sold?

Look at it from the other perspective. In that case most certainly the SP campaign would have featured Indian soldiers pwning insurgents, which I think would have scored with Indian gamers :) Unless, of course someone makes a game from the terrorists perspective, the chances of which are minimal. But this whole point is moot, this is a GAME, and should be treated as such. Don't like it, don't buy it...

"No Russian" SP campaign of MW2 is bizarre, and that's why Russia banned MW2 in country.

(However player has an option to skip it)

Still game/or that particular stage was not banned in US, Even if Your role is of a terrorist shooting at horde of civilians.

Why double standards here?

I don't know about our govt, but at least some in UK has some sense

Culture Dept distances itself from MP’s MOH outcry | Games Industry | MCV

As for me, as a gamer I would rather get busy enjoying a game than bring unnecessary politics and emotions into it. I am pretty sure that in real life every one who fights has a perfectly noble justification to justify their acts of violence no matter whose side they are fighting on and that includes every god damned so called terrorists as well. But this is a stupid computer game we are talking about and anyone who cannot see that it should be treated like one is not mature enough to play it. This is why games like this are rated mature. Mature people know the difference between a game world and reality. If someone makes a game around Baghat Singh or Subhas Chandra Bose, should they be banned as well on the basis that these people were terrorists in the eyes of then ruling govt in India.

:D Hmm....I think ISI will find it as an interesting idea to brainwash the computer savvy Pakistani youngsters. If they make an COD MW copy. It might be something like this :

The game will feature expletives hurl against Indian soldiers by the in game characters.

The first mission will include storming some INS ship.

The second mission will include helping the insurgents in Kashmir trapped in fight with BSF.

The third mission will have rescuing some Pakistani spy from Indian prison (Easiest mission even on Hardcore mode). The fourth mission will include assassinating some Hindu Fundamentalist.

More fights and finally nuking a Indian city.

Then MP to play with your friends. MP will include bonus maps of Indian cities so that you blow the hell out of them.

Wow....looks interesting to me. I will play it. Of course, it will be a pirated copy which is cracked by Pakistani hackers(like other games). :p
