thinking of picking it up, should i wait till piece in stock or pre order now? should be a good upgrade coming from a pantech burst right?
 
With planned obsolescence and shorter life cycles of the products and "want" of a little more, these products are earning the mollah with people buying it even when the old hardware is still performing very well.
Like buying a S4 when it comes does not automatically make the S3 useless and non working.
These companies have played it very well.
 
people who buy these phones dont have s3, and definately dont want to put 30k in phone. this is for people who want good specs in a price that will not cost a bomb, for me (not a power user) i cannot get myself to spend 40K upwards for new phones that i will get bored of in 6 months. so i keep buying cheaper phones that do everything that i want it to. and can upgrade whenever i want without loosing a whole lot of money.
 
none taken, i was just talking about a few people out there who dont want to spend a mad amount on a new phone. if someone else does, he has all the rights too cuz thats his own money that he is spending. weather it be for "want" of a little more, or just becuz he can, is his own problem :D

I agree. Really its foolish to buy a 30K + handset and sell it off for 20K when next Generation arrives. 10K loss thereby.
Instead buy a budget handset with all the specs of high-end phones..which is quite possible now due to new company's like this UMi , etc targeting Indian budget users. Although you dont get that satisfactory royal feel of the high ends but atleast your phone competes very well considering price perfomance ratio...
Pantech Burst was an exception with quality and price ! Handsome phone. Lets see what these new brands have to offer us :)
 
is the SOC good enough to drive 1080P display. Ho was UMI X1 reviewed? How about Jiayu G4 which has 720p screen but bigger battery(3000mah) and cheaper(12K?)

I hope we will see a chinese phone with S4 pro or Krait 400/600 at reasonable prices.

I want to buy this as soon as a few reviews about the Build quality are out or I can lay my hands on one at a retail store. The specs look great, the build quality is what I am worried about, also there is no sign of the A116 till now. I think MMX outreached themselves by announcing the A116, clearly looks like they didn't have the production ramped up to meet the demand.
 
MY last tryst with a cheap chinese brand aka Micromax has had me regretting in 8 months. Funkbook goes from 100-0 in 2 seconds before it switches off. Usb chargin makes the screen go crazy. You stop trusting electronic gadgets when you run into such crap. On the other hand my Nokia N82, still works like a charm *touchwood*

By the way prebooking for Umi X2 started by paying Rs.500 in cash or NEFT transfer in their HDFC account, No CC or COD as of now :( :( :(
A friend wants to purchase this phone, he is awed (impressed) by seeing the specs, @ Raksrules, Can you please advice me
 
I am probably not the right person here and have limited information about latest android devices. If it is something related to iPhone then probably i would have been able to answer.

Note : This aint the final release. This one is with 1GB ram.

Now it's no more coming on March 15, delay due to 2GB RAM optimization with the Mediatek Chip (Said by gizchina)

Instead Waiting for Neo N003, I and My friend need a Dual Sim phone, so we are planning to get one of these Cheap Chinese Phones ;)
I'm Using SGS2 ATT i777 ATM

They say they are going to bring the Young version of X2 also as in the case of iOcean X7, Neo N003, and Jiayu G4 but nothing decided as of yet regarding that but only X1s is decided as of yet, you can latest news @ www.facebook.com/umimobile
You can see there are lot of Innocent people who have paid the complete 14K as a pre-booking amount.
