Unable to shrink C:

I am having XP/Vista dual booted on my computer...
XP is in C: and Vista in G:..
I want to shrink C: but I am unsuccessful in doing so using Vista's Disk Management...
It gives me an error...see in the pic...

Plz tell me the solution for it or any other alternative to shrink my C:..

So did you go ahead and check the event log ? the error message that comes up clears says what you need to do. Check the log and please post the screenshot here :) or simpler....google the error code / message u get from the event log.

What does this means...??

And first should I check it using SeaTools for DOS(currently I have used SeaTools for Windows) and then send it for RMA..??Or should I directly send it for RMA...??
 
Err. I meant back it up. If it makes you feel better try the DOS version too before sending it. If you do get any S.M.A.R.T errors get it replaced right away. SMART errors are generally indicative of an impending HDD crash. Don't take any chances.
