Sheesh & mtnl still isn't providing 256K unlimited in mumbai.....

No good player in Mumbai against MTNL, Air Tel is there but still crawling like Snail, if some Competition will be there for MTNL than definitely they will give more for less.

I think MTNL need Kick on... GPL:@

These Indian Telecom companies will never provide cheaper and unlimited broadband internet to ppl till TRAI intervenes.

MTNL internet prices and plans have been the same for about a year and a half now. So, even competition can't force these companies to decrease prices. They pass the benefits to consumers only when TRAI forces them.

^^ even when the TRAI forces they dont listen.. sheesh..

alll this is just election hype?? cause its a good thing if bsnl provides unlimited internet that too 512 or 1mbps... :D...

but well.. mtnl ke bare main kam hi bolain toh acha ..

I don't agree.... BSNL will have to do what TRAI recommends 'coz its babus don't care... Profit or loss it will move to real broadband & others will follow....

The only area where TRAI recommendations are always ignored is Celluler companies who always come up with something to dupe the customer... But BSNL didn't has that large cell connections so they are always behind in cellular...

BSNL do have a large no. of broadband connections (~256 kbps, which is in reality not broadband), therefore it has the capacity to move the market...

May be next year on this day we might be using true Broadband... I Hope So....!!!

whatever it is, they've taken long enough, we should've been rolling on 512 now instead of waiting for it till next year. I hope this carries forward soon and 512unlm becomes a regular with every major ISP.

actually the public sectors are goin for voip stuff...and so they will b buying equipments..which in turn will help to acheive the 512kbps plan.....

there main purpose is to reduce isd cost...heard the 6 rs per minute cost will reduce to 1.25per min

@racy1...

u say true broadband...

by the time we shift to 512 k the defintion of true broadband will have changed...

Accepted!! but let us first taste that 512 kbps first... All & All its development in the right direction....

Personally I was not expecting broadband in India for another 2 years so its a wellcome move that TRAI will swing its danda to make our experience better...

Anyway I really hope they don't stick to 512 kbps as brodband but move to atleast 1 Mbps..!!

everyone is hoping for some big leaps and jumps ahead in bb speeds...
what is really going to happen who only knows....

One thing is sure that speeds will improve, & it will not decrease!!!! Be optimistic, this will happen...!!!!
