Can anyone try the BadaBoom encoder and post the results say encoding a 720p movie to ipod/psp mp4 format :D

this is the much awaited 12th aug release which would officially incorporate PhysX in 8series na?

thnx for the share though

SLI works with Grid now, immediate 1.5x increase in framerate. Micro-stutter is much worse now, guess the 9600GT really can't handle this resolution when detail is turned up.

I have 8600GT. A card that many casual to mainstream gamers have in India. So let's see how Physx on GPU works with it...

downloading starts now... will take almost 40mins with Babadoom, drivers and warmonger in package (around 500 MB). Stay tuned for more...

Ok guys, download is complete. It's time to put 8600GT through it's paces.

Tests:

Warmonger and Encoding video through BabaDoom (a 1Min 55 second 720P clip of Damnation Demo)

This rig: nothing much to write about but it's an average system by general standards. You typical mainstream stuff.

E4400 @ 2Ghz

G965RY mobo

2GB RAM

8600GT

250GB HD Seagate (SATA 7200 RPM)

Now before I go ahead, tell me which program you guys want me to compare with BabaDoom.

I don't encode much of stuff and usually it's my brother who does this stuff for his iPod. For this, he uses Any Video Converter. Is it ok or you want me to use some other program?

Max input res is 720x576 for vanilla version provided from nvidias' own site.So HD i/p will need the pro version.

Its not quite stable, not all codecs supported.

I tried a 2.1gb dvd (running 2h 34min) ,and set to be converted to ipod classic, took ~22minutes on my 8800gt at 513/1296/950 (underclocked).

Output was ~1.06GB.Speed was ~160fps.

It loaded one of my cores to 100% like the f@h client.I felt something was limiting here (not quite there for production ver?).

Interestingly some formats didnt load a core 100% (and was faster),maybe because the files were small enough .

Temps didnt rise at all for small files, but during dvd conversion it rose some 6-7degrees,but fan didnt kick in.So its not really stressing the gpu.

Forgot to mention,cpu-e4500 at 2.4Ghz

is it really worth installing this 177 drivers with phsyx support !!!doest it realy make any difference into gfx ??

^ yes it is worth installing the update driver but ONLY for those who have nvidia 8,9,200 series graphics card. its whql.

and the difference from previous whql is noticable in PhysX enabled games.

though i dont really care about that slight hardly noticable differences

overall its good to watch those demo's specially the Kulu with Softbody technology... looks really amazing. Try it own
