I got the official Android 4.4.2 update for my LG G2 today. As i dont have any past experiences with updating to new official android OS, i have few questions before i forth for starting the process:

1) Will i get all my apps deleted like whatspp along with all my contacts, sms, and pics/videos? I am really concerned for this. :(

2) Any way i can roll back to my previous version if i find it lagging?

3) If i ever factory reset my device(soft reset), i will always get the 4.4.2 or my previous jellybean?

Answers:
1) Not sure of this. Refer XDA G2 Indian Users thread.
2) Yes - Requires restore via KDZ - from the questions you have asked, you will need to do some good reading before you can do this.
3) Kitkat. Factory reset only wipes the user data. Does not perform a OS restore.

If you are on stock firmware then the update will not cause any harm to your current apps or data.

1. No, your data will remain intact. Ofcourse, this is assuming you have not rooted your phone.
2. Yes, but it will be complicated.
3. Yes, as mentioned above, factory reset only resets your data (apps, music, accounts etc.) and not the OS itself.
