What gpu wud u pair with this cpu?
e2140 @ 2.0 ghz

other h/w as follows

Asus p5gc-mx
2* 512mb 667mhz ram
xfx 8400gs 512mb
19in wide lcd
with iball 400W smps (soon to upgraded to corsair 450vx)

OC it further, can do 3 ghz easily.

Upgrade the RAM to 2 gb at least and as for the graphics card, whats ur budget? A good upgrade for under 5k would be a Geforce 9600GT or Radeon 4670

the board doesnot allow me past 2 ghz coz pcie bus gets OCed to.
yes once i sell these modules i will go with 2gb
budget is around 6k

it wud depend on the res @ which u'll be gaming.oc'ing it a little uw eliminate all bottlenecks.
if u can spend xtra 2-2.4k get a Biostar/Gigabyte G31 mobo.sud oc that procy to 3GHz.

Are all g31 boards from gigabyte good overclockers?

what is the cheapest graphic card that is sufficient at 1440 X 900?

Also does 4gb ram bring difference at my resolution?

^^I think there is only one G31 board from gigabyte, and it does overclock well. Around 2.4k for it

But the problem is the CPU has only 1 mb cache, its gonna be a bottleneck at whatever speed you run it at. If you have the cash would suggest a CPU upgrade too

Cheapest graphics card is either Geforce 9600 GT for 4.7k or Radeon 4670 for 4.4k

4 gb ram will not make significant difference right now but to be future proof it might not be a bad idea

Thanks for the advice every1.

Also please do suggest me which 9600gt i shud purchase? with regards to cooling and noise.
I prefer a reference pcb.
