Great, so as of now, the specs look like

Q6600

MSI P45 Neo/ Abit IP35-E (stupid IDE problem really frustrating now)

2x2GB Transcend

ati 4850

Corsair VX450

Anything worth noting?

what exactly is your problem with the IDE ports??

all boards nowadays come with just 1 ide port.

sell your ide devices. buy sata devices.

Well my current mobo has 3 IDE connectors so, I use 2 IDE cables, 1 for my drive and 1 for my HDD.Yes, I'll have to sell of one of my IDE devices..most probably will be me DVD RW.

arre.. im trying to figure out what PROBLEM ur gonna have?

are there any issues with running 2 ide devices on one channel? i dont remember ever having had such issues in my pre-sata days... jus wondering.

The problem basically being the IDE cable isn't long enough to connect both my HDD and my DVD drive. In other cabinets, the jumper and port are facing towards the mobo which makes it easy to use a single IDE cable because it can connect both the hdd and drive, but in my lanboy, the hdd are facing towards the side panel so there's no way I can connect them.

Arey, yeah, I think I'll sell my drive off, my HDD has too much data.
You mean optical drive. :P
Hard Disk: Seagate120GB+WD40GB+WD250GB+Freeagent 80GB
Primary Optical Drive: Samsung 16x DVD/Liteon 20x dvd dual layer RW
Preferably sell all IDE stuff- get an equivalent or higher capacity SATA2 HDD and DVD writer- both pretty inexpensive now.

Lol..if I sell my drive off, I wouldn't go for just a Q6600 :bleh:

Yeah, I might just do that, except that I'll have to find an alternative storage for my data now, my external hdd doesn't have enough space.
