Components I Have :
ASUS R4BE x79 Motherboard
Intel 4930K i7 Processor
DDR3 1866MHz 32G G. Skill Ripjaws
Corsair 750W PSU
ASUS 780TI DC23GDD
ASUS VG 248 QE 1080p Monitor
NZXT Kraken M22 Cooler
This is a 11 year old rig that I had abandoned over the years.
The graphics card has aged, and its fans are dead. Been looking for replacement fans but the card is worth less than the cost of importing replacement fans for it now so abandoning it.
I recently acquired a used 3060Ti for the replacement.
Planning this for the remaining parts:
AMD 7800x3d AM5 with stock cooler (34K)
Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX V2 (24K)
Corsair DDR5 5600Mhz 32GB x 1 (9K)
Getting this combination for 67K (-18% GST input credit) = 55K
Plan to splurge on a 1440p or 4k monitor at a later date and another 32GBx1 stick for future. The Kraken will work on the AM5 socket as per Reddit but if it doesn't, I have stock cooler as backup.
Will repurpose the current MB+CPU+Ram with a low end GPU and PSU to use as additional office PC.
Primary use case is Gaming + Game Dev
Does this seem like a good plan or should I tweak it further based on the current meta related to PC builds. Been out of touch for quite sometime and catching up.
