Upgraded version of Motorola Defy called Defy+

Re: Upgarded version of defy called Defy+

After the Google acquisition, I was hoping they would call it Google Defy aka Goofy :lol:

I dont think that you should regret the decision you made... The Defy+ just has 200MHz faster processor than Defy and has 1700mAh Battery and comes with Gingerbread out of the BOX other than that Defy and Defy+ are pretty similar specs wise... If you want you can overclock the Defy's processor too to 1GHz and if you want Gingerbread OS then you can install CM7 and if you need more battery life just wait for the Defy+ to get released in India once it gets released just buy its battery and put it in your defy... i dont think that the Defy+'s battery wont work in Defy... :)

TBH you bought a great phone :eek:hyeah:

Cheers!!!

Ya man. I'll be getting iPhone 5 in December so I think it's a good buy. Will start saving up for iPad 3 and PSP 2 :p

Motorola DEFY+ vs. Motorola DEFY - GSMArena.com

The dimensions are exactly the same.

The only main differences are,

i) 1GHz processor instead of 800MHz on Defy (Can be OCed. But a good one for marketing and for non-enthusiasts)

ii) GB out of box (CM7.1 available but again good for marketing and for non-enthusiasts)

iii) Larger 1700mAh battery (10% increase in battery capacity is a good move)

iv) IP67 certified (Anyways Defy also was the same. But was not officially certified)

So not much of a change. So it would nice if Moto prices it at ~15.5k and reduces Defy's pricing to 14k ;)

Guys, the Defy + is supposed to be life proof: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-19736_...announces-life-proof-defy-for-select-markets/

@tufel:

It seems to look a bit bigger from the pictures, But I have not read any news on increase in screen size. Here is the link: Motorola launches faster Defy+ | News | TechRadar UK

@Punker:

25% faster than regular defy just is not worth it to upgade or even regret your defy purchase. Like "Hades" said you bought a good phone, so forget about the plus and enjoy your defy till IP5 comes out.

Also the reason why most of us hate Apple is because of Steve Jobs and his cocky attitude of telling us what to like and what not to like. We want freedom and do not want to pay outrageous price to listen to what Mr. Jobs tells us to do with our Iphone. Other than that we like its support and devices. I personally like IP4 when I got it last year and had a chance to appreciate it. But just did not like the restrictions and syncing.

Defy+ is confirmed to have gingerbread out of the box. If it is closer to 18k then Nexus S would be logical to buy than Defy+ due to upgrade to ICS.

Does anyone have any idea about what the SAR rating of Defy+ could be? Coz the only thing that held me back from buying the defy was its high SAR rating!

The dimensions is same. The SOC is similar. Its now clocked 1GHz out of box. Everything else except the battery rating is same.

I dont think the SAR is going to change a lot since they are re-using the same components except the battery.
