PC Peripherals Upgrading to Phenom II or Else ?

Last Year i bought AMD Phenom 9850 Quad Core, 2.5Ghz with 4GB RAM & Asus M3N78-CM motherboard. Now based on my work its not sufficient anyhow i am thinking of upgrading it again. Can you guys tell me what should i go for ? As my work involves creating CG (Computer Graphics) and playing with simulation and dynamics which is purely based on RAM and processor.As i bought AMD so now i want to stick to it and looking for more advanced CPU within this family

I have a AM2+ socket so does that mean that i can upgrade my processor without buying a new motherboard and other stuff ? Also i am looking to increase more RAM to 8GB or more now. Please guide me on how to make it more efficient and effective.

What frequency Rams do you have ?

I assume that you have 800mhz Rams

Your mobo has 4 DIMM (Ram slots) .

Phenom II x4 955 - 8.5k / Phenom II x4 965 - 9.5k
2x2GB Transcend DDR2 800mhz - 4k

Total - 12.5k / 13.5k

Phenom II X4 955 would suffice along with the extra 4 GB since you insist. The mobo cannot take more than 8 GB RAM

@rebolt, buy a Phenom X-II 550 BE, unlock the two additional cores, and voila! you have a Phenom quad core priced at 5K (supposing you've a motherboard capable of unlocking the two cores).

I think u need to install a GPU not a processor upgrade. Get a HD 5770 around 9.5K buddy!
