I have a LiteOn LDW-451S flashed to a LiteOn SOHW-832S .

However i have problems playing many original movie dvd's . they just keep on spinning . happens with only Sony's . i suspect its due to the media type which may not have compatibilites since they work on my friends LG drive . i have disabled region code settings on the drive .

so lets not talk about DRM or Region code

all i want is a good DVD RW which has known for playing all kinds of Original DVD's . also should be able to sustain heavy duty writing use for atlest 1 and half year .

so gups please recommend drives , places , prices and if possible contact numbers .

i also need a UPS . cheap and reliable . DVD RW can be on a expensive side . i dont mind .

Get a BenQ DW1650 if it's available... should set you back by 2.5k. I've been using one for a few months and have not had any issues - I think there are others on TE that will also vouch for this.

About a UPS, APC 500VA will cost 2k... if you have more to spend, get an APC 1KVA - not sure about it's price though :)
 
there is only 1 dvdrw u can get now & its lg h10a. costs around 1900rs & 1 of the best dvdrw out there now.

dont have much idea bout ups
 
ups always ppl suggest apc.......but it depends more on budget......and whether your rig is heavy or not depending on that

apc pricing 800va-->4800(dont know why my dealer quoted 5.2k)

apc 1kva--->ard 7.5k

apc 1.5kva--->ard 9-10k
 
APC is VERY reliable IMO; I've used others and it was a friggin nightmare.

@stormy, the DW1650 is still available in Bangalore :P
