i hv a recently bought UPS. i wanted to know how to take care of a UPS. in case i am not working on my PC and the PC is turned off, should the mains power to the UPS be kept on in order to keep the UPS fully charged?
Also is it not advisable to run a UPS under the DC supply of an inverter battery?

A inverter will output AC not DC.
You can run the UPS via inverter bit if the inverter outputs squarewave its can effect certain appliances life ,like inductive load such as fans,power supply etc .
