PC Peripherals UPS which autoshuts windows 7 PC

hi,

I want a 600vA UPS which should be able to auto shut the Windows 7 pc 5 mins after it starts running on backup power.

i know earlier APC use to build UPS with similar functionality, but can't find the model number.

^ windows 7 has option of shutting down when on battery power. check in power options.

That option is available in APC Power Chute software which you can install once you buy the APC UPS and connect it to the PC.

most old ups had this functionality , even wipro ones . Look for a ups with COM port and appropriate software (Liebert,APC,iBall)

any particular model i should be looking at..?? i prefer APC.. Also any extra serial cord with the UPS needed? i am a bit of noob here..

i'll suggest APC BACK-UPS ES 650.

i'm using it for my desktop.

works like a charm.

+1 to APC PS ES 650, has the Power Chute software, automatically as soon as the battery reserve drops below a certain limit the UPS saves data and shuts down the system on its own, price in Bangalore is ~ 2.5K, hope this helped
