PC Peripherals Urgent Advice Needed !!!

Hey guys, Im going to good old LR tomm evening and I need to get speakers with fm and a cabinet for my dad without a power supply.

My budget for the speakers is abt 2k and 1.5k for the cabinet (can be increased if necessary).

Now I was planining on getting a 4.1 Adcom speaker set with fm for my sis as she will either use my mp3 player or the fm function. However I was thinking of getting the Artis S700 instead and buying some Chinese fm radio. Which option should I get ?

As for the cabinet, it is for my dad who needs a mini cabinet. I saw an iball cabinet available which looks nice. However I know iball s**** in mice and speakers, so are their cabinets any good ? Also will I be able to fit a regular ATX PSU in the cabinet ? He has an old P4 1.7 Williamete, so no heating problems.

mini cabinet = may have their own PSU....

i saw a few zebby ones..looked good.

Just found out that my dad has 2 hdds. So slim cabi is out. So should I go for Zebronics, icase or Vip (kunhar) ?

And which is the best bang for the buck speaker system within 2.5k (not more)

yep.. for that rig, thats sufficient.. but do check for the No. of bays inside the cabinet to accomodate the 2 HDDs inside..

another drawback of the mini cabinets is the PSU.. their form factor is different and are bleady expensive to replace (if need be)
 
hey i just happened to be at zebroncics zone yest. they have very good cabbys. some are very classy . you better check them out also
 
Please avoid crappy stuff like frontech,xtech and adcom speaker. There are 2.1 speaker available from creative and Altec albeit without fm though.

Where is the Zebronics zone ? People here seem to like Zebronics, so I think I will go for them. :)

As for the speakers, I think I will go for the Artis S700 and get some additional fm tuner.

Also, I will go on Thursday so that I have some more time to get stuff.

So if anybody wants to know the price of anything, I can ask around. Also please mention which shop possibly would stock the item you want.
 
artis speakers are no good . get creative or altec as blade said ... u wont regret it later .

Ok, plans changed. Decided to get the ATP 3 speakers after all. So which shop in Lamington road should I get these speakers ?

A friend picked up a Zeby cabinet from Active Infocom they are in a side street off Lamington road - I have no address - phone numbers 98202 17703 / 93245 53283

Altec Speakers.... APEX Enterprises 1st floor Vijay Chanmbers, opp Dreamland Cinema, Tribhuvan road, off Lamington Road Phone: 2389 5548

Kunahar the VIP and PowerSafe and Artis people are located quite close to APEX ask them for directions if you want to check out these products too.
 
Here is a map attached for your guidance...

yellow line = Lamington road
red = dreamland cinema
green = APEX
blue = Kunahar
pink = Active Infocom

to get from Active to Dreamland you would normally have to go to Lamington road and around the block - long walk - but if from Active you ask people on the street they will tell you of a small passage in a building at the end of the street which takes you across directly next to APEX's building. Nice short cut.

 
Wow !:S Technology is so advanced nowadays ! Thnx a lot I now dont have to waste time searching for all those places. :hap2:
