Dear Friends,

Sorry for not posting in the standard format.

I m fine with the config suggested by DarkAngel (have been using Athlon 240 for quite some time). However, is there any possibility of better MOBO?

regards,

sk

The next best option is the TheITWares - One Stop for all Gizmos!ASUS M4A88T-M LE AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard ~3.85k. Has HDMI, 880G. Sadly most the 785G that used to cost ~3.3k-3.4k have been phased out and hard to find :(

Else TheITWares - One Stop for all Gizmos!GIGABYTE GA-880GM-UD2H AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard ~4.1k if you need four RAM slots

If you are luck the AthlonII X3 440 or 445 might unlock into a Athlon Quad :)

^^ Sir don't you think the Sandy-Bridge set-up is better considering future investment path.

Question to me or OP. If to me please cut the sir. I am not a lecturer :P

i3 2100 + H 61 would take the cost upto ~ 17.5k

Also he said just a daily basic PC. So it would suffice IMO.

@kriplani: Do you already own a rig and is it possible to hold on to if for little longer?

Because the new AMD Llano dual core which has Husky CPU core (Similar to AthlonII) and a GPU with 160 shaders (Similar to HD64xx) and is prices @ $70-$80 :) (3.5k-4k)

So if you can wait 1.5-2 months the Llano would be out in the Indian market and would make a great VFM entry level rig :D

Or you can also buy the Quad version with 320 shader GPU for $110(HD6530 :O)(~5.5k)
