Thanks for the replies guys. I am still searching for people with similar blood types so it may take me a while to reply back here. So please bear with me.
@Meg@M!nd - I am not sure of that yet. Today being a Sunday, most of the doctors at Apollo are kinda on leave. So I will be able to confirm on Monday morning. I shall keep you posted on that. Thanks again for your support
. Much appreciated.
@avinashwarrier - Thanks for your support buddy. Much appreciated. I was as shocked as you are at the number of replies to my thread on the other forum. Guess that forum is all hot air. bah, leave it. I have all the help I ever wanted from the awesome TE junta
@lida - Your questions are fine mate. I had the same queries as you do. Afaik, platelets differ in different blood types. Although, I had asked the doctor the same question as you have posted here, I did not get an answer to the question. All I was told is that the blood platelets have to be extracted from a fresh blood sample from a healthy donor of type A or AB. And since the blood sample has to be fresh, it's no use going to a blood bank. Apollo is very peculiar about certain things, sadly.
@raksrules - My wife has contacts in Infosys and quite a few other service based companies. First thing on Monday, emails will be sent out. Since this platelet issue came into light on the weekend, we couldn't approach the service based companies junta
. But no matter, because all Chennai based IT folk will be getting the emails soon.
Thanks for the advice mate.
@cranky - Yes. Sadly dad's blood type was the one thing which had ruined the doctors face when this issue came into the light. The expression was just terrible. Anyways, nothing much can be done about that. Let's hope for the best. Thank you for your wishes and support
@everyone who took time out to go through this thread and reply - Can't thank you all enough for the amazing support you have shown. You are all aces in my book
I am proud to be a member of TE. Thank you all once again.
