Hey Guys..
My friend gave me his Galaxy S with an issue which i am supposed to resolve.
History:
He had this phone working in perfect condition.
He was driving his car and unfortunately banged the car into another one while trying to fish out the phone from his pocket. The phone flew out of the window and landed on asphalt. The back cover and battery came out.
He assembled the parts back and everything was fine. no problems apart from very few cosmetic bumps.
Now 4 days afterwards he suddenly notices the screen of Android bot shoveling dirt in a yellow hazard sign and with the caption underneath: Downloading.. Do not turn off target.
The phone booted in a few sec and now there is a black screen blinking with Galaxy S GT-I9000 Samsung written on it in white txt.
Attempts:
1) Tried to hold Volume(+) + Power button
Result: Nothing happens.
Or maybe the phone reboots to the same black screen with white txt.
Its been blinking anyway so i cannot make out the diff.
2) Tried Holding V(-)+Power+Home Button
Result: The Android Bot reappears with same message of Do no turn target off.
The screen now blinks with that screen until one of the button is released.
3) Tried to take off the battery and inserted it in after 3-4 mins
Result: The black screen with white txt blinks again.
4) Tried connecting the phone to pc
Result: The power charging icon appears and windows does gives the sound of new drive detection.
But i Do not have the s/w cd with me. Also the phone hasnt got the mem card in it. ( Lying with frnd)
Windows cant install the drivers to connect to the device so i cant access the on board memory either.
( Will get the driver cd and mem card tomorrow. )
He wasnt trying to update the f/w or anything.
Cant claim warranty as he had got the phone for reviewing from Samsung itself.
Anybody knows how to get the phone back to working state ??
Do leave ur tips guys. Need to get this thing back on track soon. Submission time is nearing.
