PC Peripherals Urgent help needed. Pc wont start

I had used my wife's pc last night n today it wont start. Its powering ie light is blinking but nothing happens. Plus it wont even eject dvd drive though light blinks there too. So help me before my wife strangles me lol
Its quite serious prob 4 me pl help if anyone has faced similar prob n suggest solution too. Thanks

turn off the power on the comp completely from the mains, then press and hold the power button for a abt 20 secs while the mains is off. Once that is done power on the computer.

If that doesnt help wriggle your power cables a bit and then try.

If those two dont work report back. Might not be posting which might need some work.

Wasnt able to reply sooner. It didnt work . It makes noise when i start the comp n the dvd drive blinks n dont eject . I forced it dvd open using a pin but there is nothin inside it plus it pulls it back slowly.

what config u have ?

when u press the eject button,what do u hear?

if u hear some kind of sound other then normal then its the tray problem n BTW which drive u have and for the pc ,check for weak connections n then try and if u OCed your pc then try clearing the bios ny changing pins on the mobo.

How about removing DVD drive connection, though I have not seen a drive stopping a computer from booting but in your case, its worth a try.(In case its a branded PC, make sure you'll not void the warranty)

Its branded but the dealer had broken the seal when he installed dvd drive . So i guess no warranty . It doesnt show anything on the monitor only dvd drive keeps on blinking n fan makes noise that had never happened. I had shut down properly plus there was no power fluctuations earlier.
Btw its hp system with p4.

Can u guide me how to reset the mobo pins . Will try n let u know if that works
