is it worth the warranty risk to buy from Singapore price wise ? or should i hunt the markets tomorrow...

PS: dont have time...

Singapore is not much cheaper than india, i think you are better off with buying it from india only

+ I feel local warranty is essential for a laptop.

ok .. then please suggest :

c2d laptop about 30k

and an atom laptop...

Which one do you want - C2D or Atom???

For getting C2D for less than 30k, you will have to look at the Zenith laptops or the Acer Extensa 4630 or Acer Travelmate 5730.
I think the Dell Vostro A840 costs less than 30k(it costs around 26k) but I am not sure if it has a C2D processor or a Intel Dual Core processor.

If you want Atom powered laptop then either go for the Asus EEE PC 1000HE or Samsung NC10 and if you have a low budget then the Acer Aspire One D150.

1. About price: go to google.co.sg and search for laptop prices---that should give you definitive answers about laptop prices in Singapore Also, price in the airport may be cheaper!!

2. warranty: not an issue if you buy in India. OTOH, if you choose to buy in Singapore, check the website for the geographical validity of warranty. Apparently, Dell with >=3 yr warranty, it is international. With Lenovo, laptops bought in US are not covered in India. Check website about laptops bought in Singapore. It may also be possible to purchase warranty coverage in India.

Best is to buy in US and have it shipped to Singapore----might be worth the shipping---lots of deals there.

In any case, you have to do the legwork (or web-work).

Mate buy locally,as mentioned local warranty is way to a peaceful mind, checked out acer 4736z C2D T6400, 3GB DDR3:hap2: :hap2: , 320GB, HDMI :hap5: for mind blowing 32k incl all taxes.

you have this mega sale gng on in singapore i guess..

just in case if it is on electronics...probably you may end up with a really good price.. take a final call after you chk the prices there
