CPU/Mobo Urgent: Opty 242 S939 or S940?

my frnd is at the dealer-i suggsted that he get Opty 144/146. the dealer has Opty 242 taht he is giving for 10k odd.. he says its A8N-E compatible & is
S 939?
Is it 939 or 940 ??

242 is Socket 940.

Only the Opteron's with 1** Numbering are Socket 939.

Atleast a 400W PSU. If hes getting a Indian brand then 450W.

Power 450W i think should be fine. .

he's from Chennai-so he is able to get d Zebby 400W..Maybe Zebby500W wud also b avlbl there..any idea on their prices..?

He wants d stuff NOW-so no Powersafe..

& how much is a Antec SP400W ?

Antec SP 400W is around 3.5 - 4k i think. Im not sure.

I think a Zebby 500W should do nicely .

@Delhiboy, Delta Computers in ritchie are getting the stock of opty 146 on monday... tell him to buy that if he hasn't bought it yet.
