PC Peripherals USB Soundcard

Hi

My onboard sound is sort of half-dead (only the right channel works).So im in the look out for an external USB sound card.

My max budget is 1k.

I came across theese on ebay

(Iknow its not 5.1 - only simulated.I dont care as i have a ATP3)

I know theese wont be in league with the other good brands out there,but my max budget is 1k.

Please suggest other alternatives .

PS: No PCI cards please.I allready have a creative SB Live 24-bit.But it causes conflict with the onboard card and doesnot work (although it gets detected and drivers install correctly)

disable the onboard card in the bios and use the SB live 24 bit.

SB live >> any USB sound card.

allready did that....even then it doesnot work

these are cheap chinese soundcard. sice your onboard is dead , this can replace it but expect distortion from your atp3's if you listen at loud volume.

not sure about the problem between onboard & your 24 bit live , post more details so that a solutin could be found
