I ported my number from Docomo to Airtel. Only today morning, the porting was complete by 2am.
Then I started trying to recharge my mobile at the dead of the night :S

I love paytm.com but for some reason, they don't do Airtel recharges. They show it in the list but when you try to proceed, they say that they don't have Airtel recharge.

After trying a lot many sites and losing Rs.11, finally found Online Mobile Recharge | Online recharge service in India for Airtel Aircel Huch Vodafone Bsnl Tata Indicom and Reliance mobile

This one uses CCAvenue for the payment system and so you can use Netbanking/Credit Card/Debit card.
easymobilerecharge.com allows me to recharge my mobile with any denomination
All special recharges can be done :ohyeah:

I first tried with Rs.10 and after getting it recharged successfully(got recharge notification within 1min of finishing the transaction), I did Rs.80 and Rs.98 recharges too. :hap2:
All recharges done successfully within 1min.

The only downside of this site is that it charges Rs.2 for each transaction :@
So had to pay Rs.12, Rs.82, Rs.100 while doing the recharges of Rs.10, Rs.80 and Rs.98 respectively :@

P.S: Failtel lives up to its name and even after 30mins of the recharges being done, is charging money from main balance for each SMS and GPRS is not working either :@

^ I don't think it's their fault. The third party recharge site is the culprit. They might not have recharged with the respect special recharge amount. You can't blame Airtel for recharging from some other website.

What's wrong with recharging directly from Airtel's website? Why do you want to use other sites when Airtel provides it on theirs?

recgargeitnow.com does recharge any Mobile/DTH/Broadband payment Without any Processing Fee

Because they allow you to recharge only for specified denominations ( 50, 100 etc ) so you cannot activate special bonus packs etc.

Another site which allow special recharges for Airtel is Online Mobile Recharge for TataDocomo|BSNL|Uninor|IDEA|Airtel|Vodafone|Reliance|Videocon|Aircel|Tata Indicom|Tata Docomo prepaid mobile(India)- ezRecharge.in but just like the above site charges transaction fee.

but freecharge doesn't ask for any processing fees, you can recharge of any denomination, i usually recharge with vodafone night pack or 200 min vodafone 2 vodafone free pack. The recharge is blazing fast. :)

^ Try doing the same for Airtel, and it will show you a list of fixed denominations to choose from. :P

You did not understand. I had received the ERecharge notifications(The ones you get when you do a ERecharge from any roadside shop) on my mobile within 1min of completing the transaction on the easymobilerecharge.com. So easymobilerecharge had already done the recharge.

The GPRS worked after I suddenly remembered a small info. I had to dial *567*11# after recharging with RC98. I had forgotten about this since I had not used Airtel for the last 5 months.

And the SMS pack was working as well. It was since it was deducting from the 10 free SMS that we receive with Rs.10 recharge, that I thought it would cut from main balance after the 10 SMS are over. So I was being a bit sissy :P
