Hi. I thought one such thread would be somewhat useful here.

I'm looking for a good sms manager. I already checked out chompSMS and handCent. Both have issues with my phone (optimus one) THe phone simply reboots for no reason the moment i try to read a msg from either of the two apps.

Also, i'm looking for a profile manager (silent/loud/vibrate)

Please post any useful android app you find :)

Thanks

Good thread. Im looking for a full fledged answering machine, profile app. Will post the full list of apps that I find useful once im on pc.

Allright now some apps that I found very useful so far within my first week of switching to Android.

Launcher Pro - Awesome launcher
Fancy Widget - Older versions upto 1.3 have HTC Sense type weather widget
Tapatalk - Needless to say, best app for accessing TE and such forums
Vlingo - Very useful voice commands
Tweetdeck - For twitter
Taskos - Syncing with google tasks
Speedtest.net - The obvious app for testing connection speed
Skype official app - Useful
Skyfire - Very good browser
Shazam - Useful app for finding the name of great tunes you come across
Facebook official app - Useful
Endomondo - Sports tracker, useful for work out activities.
Dictionary.com - Just a useful dictionary.
Barnacle Wifi tether - Very useful for wifi tethering.
Barcode Scanner - Useful for scanning barcodes.
Appbrain - Useful for finding good apps (and syncing too I guess)
Angry Birds - Great to kill time
Adobe Reader - For PDFs
Adfree - Blocks ads from apps and browser
Birthday Widget - For displaying upcoming birthdays in HS

Now someone please tell me a good answering machine app? Can't seem to find any. Also why no profiles built into OS like in Nokia? Profiles are important IMO. Suggest a good profile manager app too.

Remove the link man, you know it violates TE rules..

Hmm.. I think that posting links to other forums (specially when registration is required to view posts) is not allowed, hence I'm copying and pasting contents from there. Credit goes to the original poster.
