User Experience Designing- Courses and Career

Hi all,

I am persuing BCA degree in Bangalore and I am very interested in the field of user experience designing(UX design) and HCI(human computer interaction) and I am looking to start a career in those fields. As i have a basic understanding of UX designing and its working, could you guys suggest me a few courses or degrees which will help me aid in placements and learn more about HCI and UX designing, preferably 6 months to 1 year duration courses. I have the basic skills of Photoshop, Dreamweaver and other graphic software.

Also, how is the future of UX designing in the field of computers?

There's a free HCI course being run by Scott Klemmer (Stanford) on Coursera that might be worth having a look at.

I've already enrolled for it but sadly I won't be getting the certificate because the course started in September.

The future of UX designing is pretty bright. Most companies (including mine) have a hard time filling UX positions. Of course, the assumption being that you are good at your job
