Using LCD Monitor as a TV? is it possible?

hey, I really want to use LCD TV.. I never got any chance to buy it..

I just say PhOeNiX thread about Dell S2409W Full HD Monitor.. I am thinking to use it as my Television set.. Is it possible?

I'm using Tata Sky in my home..

Please give me some suggestions.. Can't really spend lots of bucks on LCD TV :bleh:
 
yes with an external lcd tv tuner box u can attach the tata sky to the monitor n enjoy watching tv on it......but u'll have to get speakers i think caz the monitor doesnt have an inbuilt one
 
Dont bother with it to be honest unless you dont have any other option and must have TV on monitor.

The composite output processed by TV tuner and displayed on FHD monitor = FAIL.

If you want good results with Tata Sky, stick to 720P LCD TVs or if your viewing distance is large then FHD TVs( TVs and not LCD monitors ).

Good LCD TVs scale the output much better than any cheap TV tuner.

+1. I have experienced it. TV tuner + LCD montior = bad experience
 
Since you are using Tata sky, you can use the Component connections to connect to the monitor via a converter.

Wont be good quality though.
 
Well im using tata sky with my S2409W n frankly speaking quality is watchable not that bad i mean if you can buy a good tv tuner card then yes you can use S2409W as your tv also.....
