I have two internet connections here at the place where i live. One is a cable and one wifi. Now i have windows Vista as primary OS on my laptop and Windows XP installed on VMWARE. I want Vista to use the cable internet connection, which is happening now. Now if i use the internet in XP, it uses the connection available on host machine (in this case the cable connection). So i disabled the same in XP and now i want to use the Wifi in XP. So basically i have two connections and i want to Vista to use the cable one and XP to use Wifi one separately. I tried setting up wifi connection in xp but wasnt able to do i successfully after disabling the normal LAN / cable connection.

Please suggest.

1- Go under the Wifi Adapter's Properties and uncheck everything except VMware Bridge protocol (ie only VMware bridge protocol must be checked)

2- Go under Cable internet's adapter and uncheck VMware protocol adapter (leave everything as it is)

Use Bridged Networking under Virtual Machine setup.

Now your Vista will use only cable adapter/NIC, because the other connection is missing TCP/IP.

Your VMWare-XP will only use Wifi adapter, because, VMachine can only see adapter having VMware protocol suite enabled.
