Hi Guys,
This is my first guide I meant to do it a long time ago. This is a small and simple guide to connect your debit card to a paypal account.
Why would you want to do this?
1. You dont have a creditcard and would like to buy something.
2. You have an international debit card and would like to shop online.
I first tried this procedure with my ICICI debit card but it dint work, you can still go ahead and try it. It worked with my Standard Chartered Debit card
To Begin the Process Click Here
Select Personal Account and Country and Proceed.
Fill up all those details and proceed again.
The process is rather simple put in your debit card number and when it asks you for the CVV number just put in 000.
Once this process is complete, your account will be in a limited status. Click on the verification button. (I cant remember the name clearly i think its expanded user program)
To make big purchases you can get your card verified by allowing paypal to charge $1.95 to your card. This amount is refundable on your first purchase. The transaction detail comes with a four digit number. Once you enter the four digit number in your paypal account you can shop to a max of $2500 at a time i think.
Please note that the verification number does not appear on the online statement that standard chartered provides. So when you get your statment make sure you have the right four digits.
You can call them and ask them for the four digit number. Once this is done all you need to do is visit a site that accepts paypal and enter your paypal id to make a purchase.
There is a list of shops that accept paypal here Please note that there are a lot of sites that are not mentioned in this list and still use paypal.
Also to receive money in your paypal account is free. So now you can begin your online shopping spree If you have any questions i will be happy to reply so just ask. Boom!
