LOL,my frnd's mom washed his 6100i in a washing machine, dried it in the same thing and put the trouser in sun with the phone still in the pocket. He got it out, dried it for 2 days, took it to the service centre. They cleaned the remaining soap residue and it worked the first time after turning on.Even the battery was fine.

Seems like the 6100 has an affinity for water!

My old Samsung phone took a nice dip in Sea water for arnd an hour :O

i had it in my pocket and didn't realize it when gng in for a dip in the sea....

As soon a s i realized it, i took out the battery..and though i almmost knew it stood no chance, i opened it up, gave it a nice bath in Surgical spirit...took it out, dried it for a n hour...and bingo....the phone worked!

And BTW Saline water is a whole lot more deadly for eleectronics than detergent and fresh water...:p

I wouldn't try IPA or anything

IPA/Surgical spirit work wonders dude!

they are 0% conducting and remove all traces of residue (salts, detergent, mineral deposits, everything)

My friend who runs a catering business, once got a call from a client, who apparently wanted to know the status of his order. And right then, my friends phone dropped into the pot of Chole :ohyeah:

Maybe he wanted to ask the client if taste was okay :bleh:

goldie trust me.. open the circuit remove water trace from battery pins put the phone near to any heat source a bumb 100 watts best. open the circuit its not hard to open the back cover.

^^ The V3 is soooo delicate :bleh:..

I feel scared even flinging it open.

You expect me to remove the back cover?

Lets see, if it doesnt work tonight, ill take it tomorrow to a Service centre.

Was running the Hair Dryer on Cold. Not Warm/Hot.
Stopped anyways.

I told me mom, let it be for 2 days :P.
24 hours is too less IMHO :P.

Ill see whats up tomorrow. Thanks :).
Dont' turn it on... said before but very imp.... The residue detergent cannot damage unless it contacts...

Hot dryer will damage internal parts...

Detergent will be cleaned using some non abrasive alcohol (not what u drink goldy :P ) give it to the service guys...
But make sure its dried completely b4 u give it to anyone...

Well my two day old 6630 went for a swim last october... I was getting out of the car and it was raining and the street was flodded with water... I was running towards the shelter and didnt realize when the phone from my trouser pocket jumped out and went for a nice little 2 min swim...

Anyways. Opened it up... Let it dry for 24 Hours(Yea thats the magic number) and next day dropped in the simcard and it worked... Still using it ... Never gave any kind of problems :)...

My 3310 was dipped in a bucket of Ariel soap detergent for, 1 night alongwith my jeans.
Dried 48 hrs, worked perfect for next 2 yrs.

Yea, does it work?

*Vince makes note of all peeps who have dropped their mobiles in water/food,etc., and will keep this info for future reference if they try to sell it in the "Market" thread*
