TCCD oces better...thats it....
Not necessarily.... its a myth. In fact most ram makers use TCC5 in their PC4800 products. (This doesnt include GSkill which uses TCCD across most of their line).

Mine does 290MHz 2.5-4-3-7

Check this link.. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=715085&postcount=1 u'll find lotsa TCC5s there including BioPC - 308x8=2464MHz DDR616 @ 7-3-3-2.5-1T - DFI Ultra-D (NF4 Ultra) - A64 Winchester - OCZ EL PC3200 Rev2 (TCC5)

the initial batch at XS didnt do anyhting beyond 270 (EL Plat 2 Rev 1.1)...maybe TCC5 has improved now :P

may be u havent been regular at XS but for a looong time the first post of that thread was not updated with the many OCing TCC5 results..

mushkin's PC4800 memory usses very speed binned TCCD chips...(amzing memory)

NEVER! ever really heard of TCC5 overlocking as well as TCCD...but i dunno

TCC5 and TCCD use the same die.
My theory is: TCCD seems to be more of speed grading done by Samsung. I guess not many chips were getting out the door to the market in the form of TCCD, so Samsung relaxed the speed grading and started bringing out TCC5. You'll find very mixed results with TCC5 - some doing really good(as good as TCCD), some doing average and some doing poorly. Hence my assumption
