DVD movie rental service is common in Indian Metropolitan cities like NCR, Mumbai, B'lore,Chennai etc. What about video game rental services,,specially for consoles(since console games are costlier thn PC ). This will also help in killing PIRACY..guyes participate in the poll and post your comments..Thanks in advance:hap2:

It will work only if they campaign and run tons of ads. See how gamefly advertises so much all over internet game sites and magazines. Lots of gamers in India with 360's and PS2's that would want this service if cheap.

for xbox 360 it already exists .....try seventymm.com. Its a online portal for renting out movies and 360 games..

^Is it any good? I had read some reviews about it a while back & seemed like lot of people had issues with it's movie rental service.Has anyone personally tried it out?

About the idea of rental system,it would really be good.Considering the high prices of PS3 games right now this would reduce piracy to a great extent. But the question again would be of how long will a customer be allowed to keep a Blu-Ray/DVD? I mean clearly not many games can be completed in a day's time & we would need it for sufficient time to get to try it out.Though it's a really good idea. The library could make huge profits out of it.But like some said this might be illegal without getting the game companies consent to rent it.:(

@sharmapu and @vij , thanks for sharing the info.

@Ethan_Hunt ,,I recently visit other DVD rental service website(India)..they seemed good and offers are very attractive..at around Rs.500 you can take 1 dvd for rent unlimited (i.e for maximum 1 month if you paid for 1 month only)..I have also checked otther usa based Video game rental services--most of them provided the UNLIMITED RENTAL with no late fee..so,,if all the biggies come out with similar business model..are will be a great business..I think all the biggies like -M$,sony should support this kind of services to STOP piracy(they can give discount on selling used dvds also)..I will really glad to shellout 500-1000 bucks per month if i got orginal and latest games released at my doorstep within 2-3 wrking days of ordering..wht do u say guyss

Airtel GOD was a big flop. Better buy your own copy and support your fav Publisher.

Ubisoft FTW :P

do you mean that..by getting the legal copy for rent- I will not support the publisher?????

Hi

I am renting my Blu Rays and PS 3 games from moviemart.in and I pay Rs 250 per game for a pck of 12 games life time validity.Service is great and they home deliver in Delhi/NCR thru their field boys.Other cities they deliver thru TNT network.I highly recommend this service.

I agree with you.I used to buy lots of pirated movies from Palika bazaar delhi and half of them never used to play.Ever since I have joined moviemart.in ,I am extremely happy and these kind of service should be encouraged.

Do moviemart deliver in Mumbai or are there any other services in Mumbai.

You are promoting piracy ...
yeah you do not own the game sadly.

<rant>All these braindamaged fine prints are deadly against consumers and still we go gaga over such products/softwares </rant>

Not sure if you meant that seriously but video game renting is perfectly legal and there are plenty of online game rental services abroad. And this is exactly similar to renting out movie DVDs or blu-ray discs. Netflix, Blockbuster, GameFly, Redbox etc. are some of the popular ones in the US.

And no this doesn't promote piracy in ANYWAY. If one cannot afford a game, this is a well sought out method to play a game legally. The owner of the rental service has paid the publishers a pretty handy sum so as to offer this service!
