viewing distance for 46in LED

Can somebody tell me whats the best viewing distance for 46in LED TV ? Is 8 ft enough ?
I will be watching mix of SD/HD content.

So you want to choose the best TV for a viewing distance of 8 feet?

Viewing distance is subjective but for SD content depending on the source quality and the tv video processing it may vary.Individual eyes also varies.
For SD you might want to sit a bit further.

I did some research on the net, some people claim that sitting close can screw your eyes.
For 46in LED TV the min distance should be 8ft...this is what I got from the net...
Anybody knows if this is actually true ?

8 feet is bit too close for SD, is the 8 feet mark do to space constraints ?

It's enough if you are maily watching HD content, it definately will give you a "theater-like" experience & no problem for the eyes at all.
