I think hub can take Care of downloads right. For some speed bump you have now a combo of reliance 3g tethering through your phone.
You can try that for upto 7mbps or more speeds.
There was some offer for 300mb for 100 bucks. Not sure . Long time not used reliance 3g.
 
Yeah hub can take care of downloads, but what if I am the main downloader ;) So 2mbps plan is important for me. I will activate 3g and try it for a month

Worldnet and speednet provide the same plans.. We have worldnet in vikhroli too but in west and station road in east :S

Oh dont ask. It was nothing short of crap. People would make fake a/c, try fake share and what not. Finally have decided not to go back, maybe once or twice a month.

Well, there goes my plans for a toss. Its the lack of competition that allows screwed up pricing here.

If you use DC++ fivenet is a very good service which I found no one else is giving.

Agreed DC++ on Fivenet is really amazing! But I already have one Fivenet connection(for brothers room) and I am looking for a new connection for mine.

@Chirag: Let me know if you find something about it in Ghatkopar East.

tbh u have a good connection, dunno the need for u to change. As far as MTNL goes and i am concerned, its pretty much as to what the plan is. Been using the DSL 1333 plan ever since its been launched and speeds as per plans state, 1mbps at day where i get nearly about 135k and 2mbps at night where i get about 235k-250k and weekends 2mbps= 235k to 260k. As far as torrenting concerned, its good but then again with only 512k upload speed=65k max is what i get.

I don't have a better choice of isp in south mumbai coz all of them either come through local cable operator, in which case in my area we have a certain rot who over charges and has shitty downtimes.

Anyways, best be u look for an upgrade to ur plan as certain ur isp would have an option to it

Just yesterday I learnt from my cable operator... He is offering 4mbps UL at 6.2k yearly :D as it is the first time they are starting 4mbps UL from this month onwards.
 
Just remembered something, some of the operators, especially, 5NET offer 1 mbps minimum with speeds upto 10mbps (which most of us never see, TBH). Is Genstar the same?
 
Yes they never offered speeds above 2mbps, just yesterday my cable operator said that we have 4mbps plan on offer... I am talking about Unlimited plans here. We had 4mbps 10gb limited available from last 2 years

NO, what I am asking is whether they are offering 1mbps plans with speeds upto 2/4mbps? In which case, most of the times, depending on network load the max speed would be 1mbps?
 
i doubt that any isp offering 4mbps ul would be without fup, read the fine print, see whats he offering u and then go for such plans.
 
1mbps unlimited seems like heaven to me at the moment :P , and seeing people talk about 10mbps unlimited makes me feel there must be something better then heaven.

Have only BSNL in our state and 512kbps is the speed we get :?
 
Got a call from my friend living in my building, he has activated 4mbps UL plan for an year and is getting 490kbps-502kbps now :) and his account also says no FUP.. We dont have brochures for any of those from years.... But we are top downloaders here...

I will post an image of my yearly usage today when I reach home... That will give you an idea about my plan and regarding FUP too :)

It is not showing last years details coz it was renewed on 2nd Nov 2011. But trust me I had downloaded more than 1tb last year...
