I have the same monitor, and it has both inputs. Can you take a pic of the place where the VGA socket is on the back panel? There are two connectors side by side.
 
i too have the same screen & it does have both dvi & vga inputs.

i think what he means that he has got just the vga cable & dint get the dvi cable. if thats the case u can get the dvi cable for around 500-600rs.

p.s - i had got both dvi & vga cables with my vx2235
 
Difficult to believe they changed it.

Unless there's a small black socket protector on the DVI input and you can't see it?

Stranger things have happened. Try to feel your way around there and see if there's something you missed?

Does this mean that it has a DVI input and there's no socket protector OR there's neither input nor protector?

Man I was going to get a VS VX2235WM... Looks like I have to re-consider on this... Also now-a-days they do not include the DVI cable in the package too (even if the monitor has a DVI input) :@
 
my dealer has taken the monitor back from me just now after I complained abt this problem....he is talking to viewsonic/distributors here to replace it with the dvi one......

theres a vx2235wm-4 model....no dvi in it. i searched on net

any1 else had this problem....plz reply n help me

Yeah, he's right, this is a VGA only model.

A simple question would have not landed you in this situation - this is one of the ways dealers and companies in the country are conning unknowing users.

Even the Viewsonic site files this as a non-current product. ViewSonic - Non-Current Product - VX2235wm-4

Buyers have to check the intricacies of each and every product before closing a decision.

I'm apologise for doubting you when indeed you were correct that it had no DVI input. That is what we always have bought, it seems you were palmed off a cheaper/inferior model at the same price as you would've paid for a regular model.

Very strange indeed, but good lesson for me at least.

Sheesh- and just about a day back i was discussing conmen posing as dealers and why i stick to where i shop from.:P

Ani- though u paid a lot more if i consider Eazy sir's price, i hope you get the DVI-D input model at least.
Also find out the rates for the same and see what the dealer has to say about the price he charged you.

An LCD display without DVI input islike a 'chaddi without naada'.:(
