CPU/Mobo Virtualization Lab

My 4U home server (FreeBSD) is using a Supermicro X10SL7-F/E3-1231v3 and sipping 120W. I was planning to move to this dual cpu board but am wary of power usage.

Can you measure the power usage for your setup?

The E-ATX supermicro boards have non standard mounting holes. Did you have to drill holes in your 2U rack?

How loud is it and did you measure the hdd temperature at room temperature conditions (non-AC)?

No, I cannot measure power consumption since I lack the tools needed. It will be much heavier on power usage compared to your board.

I bought a 2U chenbro chassis which had the needed mounting holes.

Its pretty quiet, I have louder machines and a much louder UPS which dwarfs anything else.

I think that hot-swap chassis relies on negative pressure to cool the hard disks. Does it use 80mm fans for cooling (which are usually loud)? If not it may be good chassis for home use too.
