But its a good news that price have been lowered now,and for those who were planning to upgrade from XP,after all Vista is the future, may be not now but 3-4 months from now?
I will probably move to vista in two year's time. I don't see any reason for me to kick xp, when its been serving me well, and with sp3 coming, it should get better.
note that in the budget the tax/duty on "prepackaged" software raised from 8 to 12 %
im also on xp now, but my next new PC coming march/april i most likely will go with 4GB RAM and i dont want xp x64, would rather go for vista ultimate sp1 retail box which includes both the 32 and 64bit versions, i believe.
also, if you know a MS employee who is visiting from the US, you can get vista ultimate for just $80 (this before any price cut) thru the company store for employees, if im not mistaken
and i know that employees are allowed to buy certain amount of software per year even if its for friends, just as long as they dont profit from it...
