Hi.

I've been using Vodafone 3G on my iPhone 5 since December. The overall experience has been quite dismal. I do get good speeds, but the problem is the strength. In my house, which is in South Delhi, I get 1-2 bars in the front facing room on the top floor. In all other rooms the signal shifts to EDGE. The signal moves up to 3 bars outside my house.

The story in my office is similar. The office is in Noida.

I'm 100% sure that the problem doesn't lie in my sim or phone as other Vodafone users I know also face similar problems.

I had initally used the free Vodafone 3G service during their soft launch. Similar issues existed, but one would have expected that the situation would have improved after the commercial launch.

I have bought a couple of Vodafone prepaid sims for my Dad's iPad in the past 1 year and he too has faced these signal issues.

I have also bought Vodafone prepaid sims for some foreign suppliers on a few occasions. They usually live opposite my house. Their experience was no better.

Can other Vodafone 3G users in Delhi please comment on their experience.

I've contacted Vodafone numerous times. They try to blame the phone and sim, but after clarifying everything, they never get back to me.

Thanks.

I have shifted from Airtel to Vodafone. The 3G speeds are lower. Also the 3G availability is poor. There are places where you have only edge.

Hello Matoind,

Thanks for your time on call. We request you to share with us the complete address where you are facing the network concern.

Regards,
Vodafone.

I was called by Vodafone rep and asked about the address of problem. While the problem is that I am facing problems in public areas such as roads or malls. They say that they can't do anything about it as not an address such as my home etc. They should know that most of people on this forum would be having a broadband connection . The 3G is required in public places etc.

This forum is to inform other consumers or users about shortcomings of Vodafone. This is not a complaint forum where we get a Vodafone call and interference. That too about trying to show that you want to solve the problem without doing so. I informed the caller about a particular traffic junction where there is no 3G signal, but got the reply that they won't do anything since the signal is not a specific address.

Hello,

Please let us know an alternate number & suitable time to contact you as we weren't able to reach you on your number at 1:43PM.

Regards,
Vodafone

The thread has been hijacked by Vodafone with comments that dont matter to users. They will see only crap instead of some sensible answers. Anyways at least they informed that they are upgrading the network.

Request Vodafone rep not to put the comments such as "we are trying to get in touch with you or we will get in touch with you" and make the thread unreadable.

I was called and informed that Vodafone is in process of upgrading the network. Lets hope it happens soon.

I have full signal strength, but the speeds are absolutely horrible! The only time I get good speed is when I run a speed test on speedtest.net :@
Youtube doesn't play at 720p on 3g, and websites take forever to load. I've given up, I'm porting to Airtel!

My 3G dongle keeps searching for 3G signal which is laughable. I'm not even able to browse on 2G with 4 signal bars. Horrible experience with Vodafone so far.

Customer Care is useless. Signal is useless. Just waiting for 3 month since I ported to Voda. I would cross my 1gb data limit on Airtel if I wasn't careful. But with Vodafone I am carefree. The speeds are low enough that I barely reach half my monthly limit.
