Guys,
I am owning Samsung Spica i5700 mobile and trying to setup grps on it
I received an SMS from vodafone with gprs setting but the mobile doesnt have any option to SAVE it, so i need to do it manually

The settings are present on
Settings --> Mobile network settings --> Access Point Names ( APN's) --> Vodafone_grps

When i go into this, I see following options to configure. Could someone fill the values for me, so i can enable grps. TIA
I am from Chennai and its a pospaid corporate connection. GPRS is already enabled on my number

Name: Vodafone_grps
APN : www
Proxy:
Port:
Username :
Password :
Server :
MMSC :
MMS Proxy :
MMS Port :
MCC: 404
MNC: 84
Authentication Type: None
APN Type: Internet

If its the Vodafone Mobile Connect, you only need to define the APN as 'www'. Everything else is default or blank. :)

Above GPRS settings are for Vodafone Mobile Connect...I think it's not activated on your mobile...instead use Vodafone Live settings below:

Name: Vodafone Live

APN : portalnmms

Proxy: 10.10.1.100

Port: 9401

Thanks guys :)
I dont quite understand the difference between normal GPRS and Vodafone Mobile connect, actually, is there any difference
When i contacted CC for gprs, they said, its already activated and they asked me to msg VL 52586 for the settings

In my corporate plan, i have an offer for complete unlimited usage at 199/month, which is normally priced at 899/month

what is vodafone live, will i be charged anything extra for that

^ Then yours mostly will be Mobile Connect Only. Vodafone live is basically for accessing the WAP Portal ie browsing on the phone itself and you will be charged 10ps/10kb. Best option would be to call customer care and verify whether its Vodafone Live or Vodafone Mobile Connect.

Varkey - i spoke to Corporate RM and got to know, its VMC which is at 199 for me
Sent a request to get that enabled

any idea, wat the speeds are for VMC

Speeds are same for both...theoretically 236.8 kbit/s. Only difference between them is that all ports are open in Vodafone Mobile Connect while only few ports open in Vodafone Live. So Vodafone Mobile Connect is better...

I find that Vodafone Moble Connect speeds are much better than Vodafone Live. I haven't tried VLive on a PC, but on the phone when using VMC, the pages respond faster and overall a better browsing experience.

Make a connection in pc suite with apn of vlive
Enter the proxy address in the specific browser and or download manager
For IE And chrome enter the proxy address in the internet options-connection-settings
In that enter the proxy address and port nos in advanced select for all protocols.

Well I tried to use VL to connect via PC but I was not able to...although connection was established but none of the sites were opening on PC...so I think VL can't be used to surf net on PC...
