My friend gave me his G3 to configure vodafone live in it.
I sent vl to 52568 to get settings but when I tried to install those settings it asked for PIN and my friend says he din't put any PIN in it. I tried 0000 but it din't worked.
So I manually configured it with APN- portalnmms, Proxy 10.10.1.100, port 9401.
Now internet works but only in default browser. No other application is able to use internet of vodafone live. All applications work perfectly fine when used with wifi.
My friend is using 95rs pack for 2GB usage

Update: I got PIN its 1234 but it still doesn't work.

First I deleted all existing apns. I tried installing settings via configuration message which I received from vodafone, entered PIN and it displayed " Installing next application" I clicked on ok and there is no APN created. Where I am going wrong?
 
Try the Vodafone Mobile Connect settings instead.

Name: Vodafone_gprs

APN: www

MCC: 404

MNC: 84 (I've seen this set at 86 in some places, but 84 works fine for me)

APN type: internet (+MMS should also work fine AFAIK)

Everything else as 'Not Set'
 
Vodafone live is only for wap sites and its costly compared to Vodafone Mobile Connect (VMC), go for VMC as you get to browse all the sites just like in your PC(provided your phone supports it)..

Yesterday I checked with the call center and the rates are
10 MB -- Rs 25
50 MB -- Rs 50 and
4GB -- Rs 199

Its 5paise for 10KB.. Rs 5 for 1MB in VMC and in Vodafone Live its 10p/10KB i.e. Rs 10 for 1MB, again you have packs in Vodafone Live also..

Also you can use your phone as modem and connect your PC to the internet if its VMC.

For VMC activation, you need to call the customer care and ask them to activiate VMC with the required pack and new packs can be changed only during the next billing cycle and not in the middle, Please check the vodafone.in site for the contact numbers and for Chennai (postpaid) its 98840 98840

^ They've integrated Vodafone Mobile Connect and Vodafone Live or something.

I gave the Rs. 14 - 3 day / 200MB GPRS pack a whirl and the VMC settings worked fine, and I've definitely not activated any VMC plan.
 
when ever i try to edit an apn or create an apn with the settings given by crazy_eddy it doesn't save

and when i try to use the portalnmms settings i connects but i was only able to use brwoser and no other app worked

its working now

actually i didn't waited after activating the 2gb pack

now the default settings are wrking fine
