you should segregate media player classic into two MPC-HC and MPC-K-Lite.As MPC-HC don't need any codec.

VLC for me all the way. I like the post processing thing in VLC where if the video is of low resolution and we get those Boxes while the video is playing then it smoothens out the video to give perception of better PQ.
