it does matter !!! co now you can decline ur vote. If u do not even go to the voting centre, somebody might vote on ur behalf.

we can atleast prevent Bogus Voting. I have told many of my friends this and they are going to vote this time (or decline...)

Soon if majority of people decline their votes, then we might see the re-elections on those centers with better candidates. NGOs are working to get such a bill passed.

Think about it.
 
^^ What's a re-election going to achieve apart from wasting more of govt. money and ppl's time?

To be serious, I will vote if I actually end up feeling that some candidate in my constituency is good. Not gonna bother voting on party basis as I really don't have any idea on which party ruling is least bad.
 
the most absurd part of indian election is if u wish u do not want to vote for someone...u need to fill a form stuff..which itself means all knows u decide not to vote.....and no secrecy on it....

And the govt tried its best the option shouldnt be added in the party list stuff
 
we're no more a democracy.....it is a corporatocracy that exists here now.... people are fed with false beliefs about the power of voting and their right to bring change.....growth has been reduced to mere numbers (gdp statistics are not "true" measures of growth) ....and we need more than just awareness towards voting.....we need awareness towards our rights and duties more than anything else. Off course voting is something that is both and must be excercised wisely, but it should not be looked upon as a solution till we have a mass awakening in the country......and with a huge section of ppl who still vote their cast(e) when they cast their votes.....hope is not very bright.
 
Don't have a voter ID card :( My name is on the rolls, but I didn't go on the day I was supposed to get the photograph for the ID and give out the forms. Will try contacting the concerned municipality, but my chances of voting this time are bleak.
 
Where should I collect the Voter ID Card? Have checked the rolls, my name is there (but those guys have messed up the address, can't do a thing right these guys!!!). But yeah, any idea where should I go to collect the card?
 
I finally registered - will vote for the first time in my life .... now where is my wheel chair ?? :P

what u need to b sued sir....u shd have told us this first we never knew the gyan batna wala guru was bluffing us.....

btw its good u registered......its good to have more stuff for records,,now u can show voter id card as record purpose rather than pan card and other stuff..lolz

And regarding ppl who facing problem with voter id card...its better u go there and give some chai pani to peeps...no one works for free these days....believe me....i m suffering from one such dept(cant mention details)...but nuthin happens without chai pani...and with chai pani.....u feel damn how easily it happened.....and if mistakes in name..if they are not ready to correct forget it...its not a big prob....on the contrary its a proof plus again in court of law it can b proved u not the same person when u commit crime as name,address differs...lol(u can change it later in normal assembly election time

But ya only giv chai-pani when in prob...never show chai-pani b4 any probs...i got my voter id card in 5 mins without any probs as i almost brought 5 kg of evidence to show i m alive and i m the same person on paper...they werent able to throw me out

Can the forms still be submitted? Can anyone confirm this? I have already filled the form but the last time I went there they did not accept my form because I was past due date. The last date for submitting the form was 30th Jan, I think. I still have the filled up form with me, tell me if it can be submitted.

A Voter ID card is the biggest identity proof and I think everybody should have it whether they vote or not.
